nasci em 1968, na cidade de Bauru, no interior do estado de São Paulo, onde eu atualmente vivo e trabalho. desde minha adolescência, apesar das dificuldades em ter acesso à produção cultural estrangeira - sim, ainda não havia internet, nem serviços de streaming ... - acompanhei da maneira possível tendências musicais como a new wave americana e européia e também o rock alternativo britânico. esta paixão juvenil me levou ao interesse por sintetizadores e baterias eletrônicas, entre outros recursos digitais para a criação musical. e, assim, teve origem minha participação em diversas bandas de repertório autoral, como os projetos my sweet lord vader, viscerotiq, test record stereo, carpet flowers, duofonic, projetos estes que culminaram em minha banda atual, o duo gabardine, em parceria com Paulo Sandrini.
no início dos anos 90 iniciei meus estudos universitários na área de história, na Universidade Estadual de Campinas - Unicamp, onde concluí meu primeiro mestrado, dedicado ao estudo das sensibilidades diante das transformações nas paisagens urbanas e naturais. e foi então que passei a viver na cidade de São Paulo, onde me dediquei por vários anos ao ensino universitário, sobretudo na área de história da arte.
na primeira década dos anos 2000, passei a me dedicar à carreira de produtor e gestor cultural, atuando em instituições como o Sesc São Paulo, o Museu da Imagem e do Som de São Paulo e a Praça Victor Civita, até que, em 2013, iniciei uma carreira como empreendedor na área de cultura, fundando a agência Cult Robot, à qual me dedico até os dias atuais.
nesta mesma época, iniciei minhas pesquisas autodidatas no campo da produção sonora experimental, com interesse em tecnologias mecânicas, eletromecânicas e digitais, o que me levou a iniciar uma carreira como artista sonoro que hoje acumula a participação em uma série de residências artísticas no Brasil e em outros países da América do Sul, e também o desenvolvimento de obras autorais já exibidas em uma série de exposições coletivas.
recentemente, em 2022, concluí meu segundo mestrado, desta vez na Universidade Estadual de São Paulo - Unesp, em um programa de pesquisas dedicado às mídias e tecnologias contemporâneas, com ênfase na produção artística mediada por dispositivos digitais.
por fim, atualmente me dedico profissionalmente à criação artística e à realização de projetos culturais em diversos formatos, em sua grande parte financiados por fundos de cultura públicos.
I was born in 1968, in the city of Bauru, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, where I currently live and work. since my adolescence, despite the difficulties in accessing foreign cultural production - yes, there was no internet yet, nor streaming services... - I have followed musical trends such as American and European new wave and also British alternative rock as much as possible. this youthful passion led me to an interest in synthesizers and drum machines, among other digital resources for creating music. and, thus, my participation in several original repertoire bands began, such as the projects my sweet lord vader, viscerotiq, test record stereo, carpet flowers, duofonic, projects that culminated in my current band, the duo gabardine, with Paulo Sandrini. in the early 90s, I began my university studies in the area of history, at the State University of Campinas - Unicamp, where I completed my first master's degree, dedicated to the study of sensibilities in the face of transformations in urban and natural landscapes. and it was then that I started living in the city of São Paulo, where I dedicated myself to university teaching for several years, especially in the area of art history. in the first decade of the 2000s, I began to dedicate myself to a career as a producer and cultural manager, working in institutions such as Sesc São Paulo, the Museum of Image and Sound of São Paulo and Praça Victor Civita, until, in 2013, I started a career as an entrepreneur in the area of culture, founding the Cult Robot agency, to which I am dedicated to this day. at the same time, I began my self-taught research in the field of experimental sound production, with an interest in mechanical, electromechanical and digital technologies, which led me to begin a career as a sound artist that today accumulates participation in a series of artistic residencies in Brazil and in other countries in South America, and also the development of authorial works already exhibited in a series of exhibitions. recently, in 2022, I completed my second master's degree, this time at the State University of São Paulo - Unesp, in a research program dedicated to contemporary media and technologies, with an emphasis on artistic production mediated by digital devices. finally, I currently dedicate myself professionally to artistic creation, carrying out cultural projects in different formats, most of which are financed by public cultural founds.
